2nd Grade: Using Math in the Restaurant Business

Date: 11/20/2024, 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time
Duration: 30 minutes

Description

2nd grade students in Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools are curious about how the math they are learning in school connects to the real world. We would like to see how math skills translate to the restaurant industry (from the kitchen to the office to the front of the house). We would like you to discuss your job (what a typical day looks like, what type of schooling or training you received, etc.) and then move on to how you use math in your profession. Please include visuals, tools of profession, etc. as well as an opportunity for students to ask questions! There will be multiple 2nd grade classes in attendance.
