## About Adam Malofsky, Phd

Adam's life focuses on materials and manufacturing trends and opportunity identification, with subsequent evaluation, assessment, and finally, where logical, venture creation through commercialization. A 35-year veteran of the performance chemicals, polymers, and materials industries, Dr. Adam Malofsky has held numerous leadership positions in a variety of start-up opportunities, both private and within corporate America. Adam currently leads Wellspring Material Ventures with member companies Nano Catalytics (full-time CEO), Rare Earth Technologies, and Farmed Materials (Both part-time board advisory and temporary CEO).

Adam is known for identifying white space opportunities and then employing practical, high-speed, value-oriented development strategies that frequently allow for the successful commercialization of new technology platforms, not simply evolutionary improvements. With seven ventures, both independently and within the corporate world, completed or in progress, and dozens of new materials and manufacturing products and methods commercialized, Adam thoroughly enjoys it when someone says it’s impossible and then proves it is indeed possible.

Adam lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his entrepreneur wife Robin. They have two adult children, Brandon and Nicole. Adam received a BS in chemical engineering from Lehigh University and an MS and PhD in polymer science in only three years at the University of Connecticut.
